 The Great Dubai Bake Off 2016 - the ultimate baking battle where passionate home bakers competed for the title of Dubai's Best Baker was held on 30th July 2016 at the Miele Gallery on Sheikh Zayed Road with KitchenAid partnering as the appliances sponsor.

The competitors, young and old, from every background and every corner of UAE attempted to prove their baking prowess. It was the time to showcase the best of what Dubai had to offer when it came to baking.

Over the course of three days, 60 participants worked their way through every baking discipline one can imagine: from chocolates to cakes, bread to pastry and puddings to biscuits. They baked recipes from all over the world and made exciting new concoctions and incredible cake constructions.

Only eight made it to the finals, where the judges expected nothing short of perfection. The finalists had to tackle a baked savory recipe to showcase their mastery of the different flavours other than "sweet" and finally, for their last ever showstopper, they had to make their most masterful creation showcasing both creativity and technicality.

On hand were available a wide range of KitchenAid appliances for the participants to use. These included stand mixers, hand blenders etc., which were all found to be of valuable assistance to the contestants in providing great professional quality results.

In the end, Ms. Afaaf Azim was crowed as the first Great Dubai Bake Off 2016 Champion.
